Messengers Tab

This section focus on integrating various messaging platforms, offering a range of customization options.

Here’s a breakdown of its features:

  1. Visibility Setting:

    • Similar to the Social Profiles tab, you can set the visibility of the Messenger section to either show or hide.

    • This setting can override the global theme settings, providing flexibility for individual cards.

  2. Section Name Customization:

    • You have the option to change the default section name to something more suitable for your needs.

  3. Adding Personal Messengers:

    • You can add a variety of messenger options like phone, email, WhatsApp, Skype, etc.

    • For each messenger, you can set up a name and a profile URL.

    • The URLs are deep links, see below how to use deep links

  4. Reordering and Customizing Messenger Options:

    • You can reorder the messenger options according to your priority.

    • Customization also extends to changing icons, names, and messenger profile URLs.

This tab enhances the functionality of digital business cards by allowing users to include various personal messenger options. The deep link feature is particularly useful as it enables direct engagement through the preferred communication channels, streamlining the process of connecting with contacts. The ability to override global settings and reorder messengers offers a high degree of personalization, making each digital business card uniquely tailored to the individual’s communication preferences.

In the messenger Profile URL fields you can use popular schemes:

  1. Telephone Links

    • tel:: Used to initiate a phone call. Example:

      tel:+123456789
  2. Email Links

    • mailto:: Opens the user’s default mail client with a pre-addressed email. Example:

  3. Messaging Apps Links

    • sms:: Opens the default messaging app to send an SMS. Example:

      sms:+123456789
    • whatsapp:: Opens WhatsApp to a specific number or chat. Example:

      https://wa.me/123456789
    • tg: or

      telegram.me

      : Opens Telegram to a specific chat or channel. Example:

      tg://resolve?domain=username

      or

      https://telegram.me/username
    • line://: Opens a chat in LINE app. Example:

      line://ti/p/@username
  4. Social Media Links

    • fb:// or

      : Opens a Facebook page or profile. Example:

    • twitter://: Opens a Twitter profile. Example:

  5. Video Call Links

    • zoommtg://: Opens a Zoom meeting. Example:

    • teams://: Opens a meeting in Microsoft Teams. Example:

  6. Map Links

    • geo:: Opens the default maps app at a specified location. Example:

      geo:37.7749,-122.4194
    • google.navigation:: Opens Google Maps in navigation mode. Example:

      google.navigation:q=location
  7. Miscellaneous Links

    • spotify://: Opens a track or playlist in Spotify. Example:

      spotify://track/TrackID
    • vnd.youtube://: Opens a YouTube video or channel. Example:

      vnd.youtube://VideoID

Each of these protocols serves a specific purpose and can be integrated into digital platforms to enhance user interaction and communication. They are particularly useful in mobile and web development for creating seamless and direct links to various services and applications.
